mindmeld, <It cracks me up when I hear EEs proclaim their market savvy based on <their technical knowledge.
never claimed anything, just thought your claim that "Cisco (as opposed to MSFT) is a kinder, gentler company...and MSFT helps no one except Bill Gates" was a bit out of wack. Do you think MSFT does not enter partnerships that help other companies grow so that they sell more software? Oh, and I'm not convinced Cisco is a kind, gentle company (otherwise, I might not be into the stock).
>You remind me of some poster awhile back who kept telling everyone >that Bay was going to trounce Cisco because of superior technology. >He backed it up by saying he was an EE and he knew his stuff. >Everyone here kept saying it's the management team, stupid. Now look >where Bay is. I guess being an EE didn't help him much.
I'm making no company claims here (only thing I said was optical networking yada yada yada, which I might add is being addressed by Cisco). In fact, I have a couple friends who work for Cisco, and I know some of their products are far from superior, but I still own CSCO because I know they are a marketing giant. Furthermore, if they feel they are loosing market share to a smaller company with superior tech, they'll just buy the company.
