Dennis,

This is a weekly hardcopy publication for IT professionals (me) and the quote was from the Rumor Central column in the very back. The web site is pcweek.com

I don't take this rumor stuff too seriously, but the notion that Newby will be bought out has got my extreme attention. Despite what the stubborn NN enthusiasts post here, I don't think there is any way that this small company can compete with the likes of Lucent, Nortel and Cisco without more direct clout. Furthermore, the other large companies that compete in the carrier space (admittedly not an area that I know much about) have got to be worried about their access to ATM technology although I assume that Siemens has got some major safety clauses in its contracts with NN in case someone buys NN.

BTW: I can't figure out why there is so much resistance to a fat takeover premium for NN on this board. A lot of people here seem to have lost their objectivity.
