Abby just addressed a question at the Bay Area Conference regarding the valuations of Internet stocks.

Her response was that the market has seen this before, about every 10 years. The segment that historically has seen this type of valuation is usually a new industry. Biotech was mentioned and to make her point so was the home appliance industy from the 50's.

Basically she said that using a current model to evaluate the "new" market segment was not valid. It didn't work in any of the last decades, and it was implied that it would not work when determining a value for the internets.

Overall Abby was very bullish for 1999, and stated that her plan for 2000 was also the same.

Let the dow out of the gates.
