Tim, Yup, no relation between the two businesses. Compaq stuffed the channel. Dell doesn't have a channel so it has to sell to real customers. The channel is always a sucker for CPQ incentives. Real customers for Dell, who tend to be businesses, are not buying as far as I can see. True, Dell will continue to take market share and will have a nice European quarter, but I think they will surprise on the downside. My main fear is that they make an early warning before the Compaq fairy tale.
