serious consideration

I like your backup NT on the w98 drive idea alot, especially since you've supplied such nicely explicite instructions. I actually understood it all on the first read. Thats a good feeling, not to have to struggle to understand multi-drive/duel OS isssues. Another reason I like it is that it's doable for me and will give me another layer of disaster protection along with the DI clone of NT.

I have a question about how to use your second NT install in relation to the DI clone of NT also on the w98 drive. My thinking is as follows. If problems were to develope in the primary NT install ( on the primary drive) I would first use or attempt to use the DI clone to restore a functional NT onto the primary drive because it will be a more updated version of the complete NT environment complete with apps data etc etc. Whereas the backup NT would just be the OS alone. I would then fall back on the backup NT only if the DI clone failed to work for some reason. It's always there as long as w98 drive is functioning.

Is this your understanding also of what position a backup NT would have in relation to the DI clone ?
I hope ZP jumps in with his reactions as well.
