An engaging concept but maybe not airtight. Being against abortion and being against contraception is not a conclusive indicator of hypocrisy. Quixotic definitely - but not necessarily hypocritical. The intellectual pressure in a charismatic/missionary church is intense, and among the precepts handed down is that extramarital sex is a bad thing - not to be condoned or rewarded. Admitting to the desirability of contraceptives is inseparable from giving extramarital sex a place in the world. In the USA the approved way to deal with this problem is to painstakingly ignore it and to wipe out any reference to it. Thus the zeal to bar sex ed from our schools - the fear is that knowledge breeds curiosity. (The illogical converse is that ignorance assures inaction. Uh, hello...)
Idealistic? Guess so. Deep denial? Oh yeah. Hypocrisy? Well, definite only with the smart ones.
