I remember reading some comments that said in effect that SUN and Ross are becoming competitors due to Ross going into complete work stations.
I read that SUN serializes their machines and dedicates the O/S to them. My thinking is that they will compete because they are addressing the same market with similar product.
I wasn't thinking of the ultimate disaster of going broke, but rather the effects of the competition may put them in a position of not being able to make as much income as we would like. Note that they have just recently announced price reductions, and 200 mhz systems for a third less than SUN.
In answer to your second question, When the market turns bad, everything goes. One clue is the new highs vs. new lows. When the market goes there are no highs to speak of, and most stocks either dry up or sell down. Frequently when the volume dries up, the stocks collapse through lack of action.
Granted when market caps get down to the point that a company's intrinsic value is effected, it may not sink much further. My point is that there is risk involved and the buyer has to be diligent.
We are now in a period of unprecedented access to information. Edgar is a wonderful gift. So is this forum for that matter. You can look at this company and it's competition and get a pretty good idea of your prospects. You can also get a opinion on what kind of timing is involved. Im optimistic but it will take time.
