New to CREAF,

I think that brand recognition is a big plus for CREAF. Has that been discussed here? I think it should be included in the book value, based on its retail presence and the extent of advertising. The problem has been eroding prices and the fact that sound cards and the like have become marginalized. New product development could create higher margins and improved sales for CREAF by building on a core of faithful CREAF product owners. If you look at Christmas sales at some of the major internet electronics sites the Creative presence is mind boggling.

Having said that, when is "mp3-Blaster" coming out? There is no doubt that CREAF will try to stay in step with DIMD. I think that this could breathe new life into the stock. It seems so strange to me that a couple of small companies are offering mp3 players, but none of the larger, established electronics firms. Sony probably doesn't want to douse the flame of its mini-disc sales (Does anybody own one of these?).

CREAF could get a leg up by choosing a storage medium that is available in a broader portable electronics market. A CF card or the upcoming MMC may be a better choice than SmartMedia. Other choices include Clik discs, zip discs or superfloppies. In order to have a sleek, energy efficient device you will need solid state storage. Has anybody heard of any upcoming product releases?

OFF TOPIC: Come and visit us on the SNDK thread.
