J: Read an interesting book several years ago called "ICE: Doomsday May 5, 2005". The author's hypothesis (backed with extensive documentation and historical, geographical and geological data) was that the Earth's precessional wobble is caused mainly from the instability in its rotation caused by ice accumulation or attrition at one or both polar ice caps. Over a period of time, this wobble becomes pronounced and the Earth flips on its axis (in just a few hours time), or "shifts". According to his hypothesis, the Hawaiian Islands were formerly near the center of the previous North Pole. And the frozen Mammoths in the tundra of the far North were killed (flash frozen with undigested food still in their stomachs) because of the Earth shift. He also points to millions of sea shells and deep ocean fossils found near or at the peaks of the Andes. How he pegged May 5, 2005 as the day of doom, I can't recall. Perhaps this is a sign?
