fooledalot: I'm not into TA, never will be. It involves highly questionable epistemological assumptions. In its various manifestatons it attracts adherents who appear to believe that if they can master some arcane and esoteric logic they will be able to gain control over what otherwise might be an anarchic cauldron of variables. They are like modern "witches" who dabble in what they assume to be the rules of witchraft (and they usually have a very uniformed views of the actual rules of witchraft)in order to exercise spiritual control.

That said, I am very much open to the epistemological proposition that at any given time the dynamics of the movement of a stock price are amenable to a kind of mathematical analysis, with a wide margin for error, and that this, in turn, can be symbolically represented in some of the charts used by some of the TA people.

Michael Murphy was spouting about charts on Friday afternoon on CNBC. But as my friend KevinR on the CRUS said commented, he was the guy who was vehemently denying in October and November that the kind of recovery that we have had was possible.
