I guess that hearing of a liason (sales) with Tandon simply struck a note of credibility with me. Someone made the point that India is producing a lot of software engineering like 100k people involved.
If their schools are going to produce, they will need equipment.
Anyway my thinking was more speculation of the prospects than anything else. It was a plus so it was mentioned by Ross.

When IBM first ventured into personal computers, Tandon got the contract to build the floppy disk drives for them. They also branched into a line of hard disk drives that they eventually sold to Western Digital, and they started up a line of personal computer IBM clones. This was during the period that IBM was making it very difficult to get around the bios. They had two teams of software specialists who could only talk to each other through specifcations. One group would analyze the requirements and write specs, the other would write code. They were successful in developing good machines but had their problems with distribution. Tandon tried to break into the PC business and hired specialists from IBM to help them do it. They didn't come up with the right magic for selling however, and Tandon eventually folded. At one time I think that they had a market cap in excess of 500 mil. The Tandon that Ross is working with is the same family. They are go getters and are credible. That was my point. I wouldn't sell engineers and entrepreneurs from India short in this business.

Good Luck
