Stitch, << I recall reading somewhere on these threads that Bigfoot was the favorite choice of OEMs for very low cost drives in the sub zero segment. Was their any truth to that?>> Well, it is true that this was reported somewhere on these threads. Perhaps LK said it? I'm not sure where it was. I also don't know if it is true, but it would seem to make some sense, I believe that they are (or were, until about Oct or so, I don't know anymore) the low cost drive in terms of mb/$. It is at least plausible that it is still true. I think that they also became pretty reliable drives, after the first few glitches when they first came out. However, one of the questions that I hope this CC answers is: what are their plans for Bigfoot? How many more generations will there be, and if not too many more, what will replace it? Would also like to hear something about TeraStor, though perhaps they can't say anything since it isn't a wholly owned subsidiary. Best regards, Sam |
