Discussion:
I was reading your article in the WSJ.09/08/98.
I did some basic math on the stock you were "daytrading"
at time. (just for fun)
You bought and sold 7th Level Inc.. 3 different times with
a profit of $3,063 in one day. This would be 6 commission charges
of an average of $25.00 a commission. Total profit tax not included
were $2913.00.
Now if you had bought that same stock and sold it only one time
instead of daytrading you would have had only 2 commission charges
of a total of $50.00. If you bought at the same original price
discussed in the article and closed at the same closing price of
your last trade in the article your total profits would have
been $4321.00. A total gain over and above the daytrading way of
trading is $1408.00.
If hindsight is a good teacher then I am a star pupil.
