The company has finalized the agreement for the purchase of the Jasper
Avenue Medical Clinic at 11460 Jasper Avenue, in Edmonton, Alberta. The
transaction has been conditionally accepted by the Alberta Stock Exchange
and the company expects complete approval shortly.
In an effort to increase the company's market share in allied health
services, the company (which held an 85 per cent majority interest) of a
physiotherapy and rehabilitation business, has recently purchased the
remaining outstanding shares in the company. The business operates in a
suburb of Ottawa, Ontario, offering services such as physiotherapy,
nutrition and lifestyle counselling, occupational therapy, speech and
language pathology, chiropody and massage therapy.
The company is aggressively working toward consolidating primary medical
centres and allied health facilities in the western provinces as well as in
Ontario and Quebec with a view of becoming a national healthcare provider.
