BFL, barriers to entry... It's important to note that many of the shops on the BFL site have open affiliate programs. You simply go to their web site, sign-up, and a few minutes later you get an e-mail with an affiliate code to include in URLs, and you are an affiliate! Any one of us (well, those of us with some HTML savvy) could create a "BFL" site in a matter of hours. No, we wouldn't likely have a big advertising campaign, nor the ability to do guarantee or shipping-rebate programs. Advertising and value-added programs are clearly where the barriers to entry are. But let's be realistic, and acknowledge that the technical barrier in creating a BFL-type site is VERY low, and the contractural barriers are also quite low - this doesn't take months of negotiations! (It's likely that not ALL of the shops at BFL have open affiliate programs - I'd be interested in knowing what % it is, though.)
