great responses by Richard as usual,

I would look at all your volume questions and how they have done in the past on others stocks and the ones in question

also look at vol in regards to recent past when determining increasing/decreasing

ie, if both stocks were ripping up and stock A had decreasing vol and stock B had increasing...it would make stock A more suspect

I also look at price patterns, say stock A was approaching double top and Stock B in a strong uptrend...that would make Stock B stronger for me, especially with the previous vol example (BTW, some folks on this thread pay no attention to price pattterns)

It really takes a lot of looking at charts and reading lots of stuff..then you have to start formulating your own opinions on it...
