Actually, even the design of a look requires some substantiation. After all, cars have to meet certain impact requirements. That's why there are still limitations on how/what you can design.
Remember, I'm not fighting you...I basically agree. However, there are still too many variables in most major items to have them designed by individuals. Allowing for limited choice is still a viable option.
