re: an Internet spin-off & volume build-up before an IPO?. Friday’s volume as high as Emachael reports was definitely dominated by a large number of sellers willing to go to a lower bid.

However, the low resistance line @8^7 was never broken. This in the fact that no apparent buy pressure was able to push the stock back up to the 10:00-10:25 level of 9^2-9^7. I can only surmise a couple of possibilities: some old holders of stock are getting close to even and bailing out; and someone with more info ‘bout the company is shorting the stock.

This action (selling on the falling bid) if carried on long enough is like slippery slope and so, I wonder, what was it that forestalled the shorts from accomplishing their task. I might anticipate a question related to my knowing where do I get my info from?.

Currently I follow about 11,000 stocks on real time bases and I have a new program that lets me count the number of shares traded @ASK (buys) and @BID ( sells). The simple calculation then tells me who had an upper hand in a given number of trades. Friday’s balance wound up on the short’s side by approximately 600,000 shares more sold than bought. And so I’m in a quandary again - the stock wound up +^2 on the day.
Don’t give up what should be more than hope and continue
