Investors Business Daily recently had an article about Lucent's challenges going forward with respect to its Murray Hill, N.J. culture blending with Silicon Valley Ascend's business practices. The bottom line is that many of Ascend's top technological experts will leave to go to Cisco for a variety of reasons if they deem the above marriage will be less than successful for them personally. The article also mentioned that many of Cisco's long term secretaries are millionaires due to their stock options, which I found very interesting. Long in Cisco and Lucent, Allan
