Cyto:

Thanks for the lists.

Hadn't heard of the Rydex biotech before - looks like it's a cap-weighted index fund, which means it has probably done better than any of the other funds lately. The general market cap-weighted funds have been the way to play the market the last few years - be sickening if this also turns out to be the case in biotech going forward.

The StockSmart site gives a quite different holding for the Franklin top ten - doesn't give a date, so can't tell which is more recent - be interesting to know which is the more recent. Here are the top 10 according to this site:

Pathogenesis 7.9%
Inhale 6
Neurex 4.8
Medicis 4.4
Chiron 4.4
Agouron 4.
Aviron 4.
Idec 3.7
Synaptic 3.6
Transgene 3.2

Neither of these two sets are a bad-looking selection, despite von Empster's past record.

ZONA of course is an interesting play that I've always kept well away from. I've always had more confidence in SGP's DD than in Asensio's <G>, so if forced to choose sides I guess I too would play this from the long side. A lot of Asensio's shorts have been strong lately - I wonder if he's been squeezed someplace and forced to cover across the board.
