Ah, now you have raised a question that really interests me. Can a thinking machine ever be a feeling machine? I assume that you are talking about a piece of hardware. What would it's feeling of self be like? What would it think the first time that it saw itself in a mirror? If it thought like a human, would it feel like a human, and thus want to look human? Can a thinking machine really feel happy, sad, content, angry, jealous, be able to hate, etc.? Would it crave the company of humans, or another machine?

What a can of worms this opens. We don't even understand our own brains very well.
