Well Bell~Sympatico has DSL for 39.95 monthly Canadian dollars. Speed is 1,000,000 bits down and 256,000 up. You can also get 3 megs down and up and other combis. An ANT is used to terminate the DSL line, which is an "ADSL network terminator". It is not a modem as there is no signal modulation. It plugs into an ethernet cable with a direct connection to the NIC or ethernet card in the PC, (not a crossed cable). Two types of filter connection are used to carry phone lines too. There is a passive rj-11 filter on the NID or house connection or rj-11 filters at each telco jack inside the house, so called splitterless design. metalab.unc.edu EC<:-}
