PC Power and Cooling (http://www.pcpowercooling.com/) makes very highly rated power supplies. prices range around $50-$100. they have stable, filtered output. [i don't have one in my current machine.]

a UPS will isolate your machine from damage of fluctuating current (that's not produced by the power supply itself), along with preventing crashes. ...this i use.
