Great timing for this thread. This is exactly what I have been contemplating recently.

Being 30, with no dependents, family, etc.. I feel if I'm to give tthis ago, this is the best time to try.

This is how I see my setup: (Feel free to suggest otherwise)

2 computers- one to monitor quotes, other to monitor SI,news,etc.. Obviously this requires a second phone line, which I have. Also will use two 56k modems.

2 brokers- one online, one offline in case of server problems, boxing positions,etc..

2 ISP- in case one ISP is down.

The equipment costs for me are low. I can get a second system free of charge. Granted it's only a 200mhz system, but should suffice.

That's off the top of my head. I'm open to suggestions.

thanks

x

Not planning on using a level 2 service. I've been successful in the past without it. Streaming quotes have been ok for me.

Capital will be split about 50/50 between the two accounts.
