OK, now I think I have convinced you without a word!
But, I think I get your point, you are an engineer, intuition doesn't help you with engineer-speech, for a couple of reasons, one which you alluded to, or someone else did (Sturgeon?), that it is not polite to "read" body language-statements that people are not expressly stating verbally, and anyway it may be counterproductive.
But, I am not an engineer, the situations in which I developed intuition have to do with crises of the human mind and heart, during which the brain and tongue are not always the most reliable informants.
