Brian,

I "sold" an Encore 5X to a CompUSA customer yesterday when I was visiting the store. I saw two guys watching a DVD demo on a PC and they were complaining that the picture did not seem very smooth. They had come there looking to buy a DVD solution and then I heard one of them say "if this is all the better DVD is, I think I'll forget it". That's when I stepped in and explained that the PC they were looking at was using software to decode the video instead of using decoding hardware. I took him to the DVD isle, showed him the Creative Encore 5x package, made a two minute pitch, and he was sold and very thankful for educating him. The price was $249 and I couldn't help but point out the Sony offering on the shelf below which was selling for $329. I also made sure that he knew how many accolades the Encore had received in the trade press.

Both our CompUSA and our Best Buy had several Encore's left, but it looked like a lot of the other CREAF inventory had been wiped out by Christmas sales. The shelf space CREAF is commanding is incredible.
