Nothing against MFG, but when that culture atmosphere replaces an engineering one, creativity can suffer. Some examples of Compaq's heavy handed management are that internet sites employees go to are monitored by the new management. Back at Compaq, all engineers were asked if they wanted to work on phones maintenance if they had extra time. That came down from Pfeiffer.
