KLOC before BNYN

It is my speculation that KLOC will announce
a spin-off of 1-800-US-Search.com before
BNYN announces a spin-off of switchboard.com
for the following reason:

While SB has far more "hits" that 1-800, the latter
is much further along in developing a "business model"
based selling information directly rather than giving
it away free and rely on advertising.

SB is not content to be a me-too infospace.com, although
right now it equal to it. I think that the recent
Microsoft infusion has given BNYN time to think longer term
about what SB should be and so is not pressured to
spin-off quickly

The targets (and envy) of both are Dun & Bradstreet
and Thomas's Register, both of which sell information
but who are woefully lacking in internet commerce.

Right now SB is a white and yellow page free service.
But, you can see it's intended direction in a news
release in NOV 1998, of a strategic alliance with IUSAA,
a informational database company with credit ratings on
businesses. It hopes to follow 1-800 and offer more
detailed information about businesses than name and address
IE -- CREDIT INFORMATION-- which has tangible value and
people with pay for.

P.S. I have stock in both KLOC and BNYN.
