MarketMakers see trading online as a threat. Current issue of Forbes made this point before this week. MMs keep this up, I think they are cutting their throats.

Anyone can see the trading systems overloaded with sell or buy orders on one bit of news: example look what happened at etrade , Waterhouse, Schwab, etc.this week; but imbalances are not new to the marketmakers. Ultimately this is a turf battle and it's going to be ugly.

Anyone who is in the industry, your comments would be greatly appreciated.
