Thanks, that was the first thing I did, no luck. I searched the knowledge base, and found two articles on it, and they gave a command,
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_FillCache_RunDLL to register them all back. That got me the Services one back, but the whole thing is still acting finicky, so I'm off to another install.
