I think jocks are competitive about everything. I think it is their reason for existence.
I just got back from the gym, I took the kids to swim, I swam laps for about half an hour, got dressed, then went into the weight room and lifted weights for the first time since I got sick. I was depressed at how little I could actually do, but it wasn't too bad, bench pressed 30 lbs, lat pull down 30 lbs, and so on, I did a little circuit of upper body stuff. What bothered me, a little, was that look that I was getting from the jocks, that eye-narrowed look down the nose, like I was made of inferior meat.
They are just like that, however, it's the very essence of their being.
