Hi all:
while we are waiting for the next news release about the Ghana deal, I was wondering if anybody could find out what is the short position in Golden Rule and Hixon Gold.
From Canada Stockwatch I saw that HXG:V has 11,600 shares short (official) at $12.85, as of Jan.22/97. I suspect that the illegal short would be way larger. I was intrigued last Friday by Yorkton's sell recommendation on both, GNU and HXG! Especially after only a couple of days before, some Toronto analists were quoted in a Financial Post article, targeting $20 this year, and saying that even $50~$100 could be reached!!! I imagine that Yorkton must have a quite large short position (maybe illegal, too) in these two companies, and are trying hard to create panic, in order to cover.
All this should make CLN's life a lot smoother, once the deal will be closed. What do you think?
