<<Another Myth, Balkanization of the Power Grid
January 15, 1999 >>
Hey Cheeky - All,
Last summer we had brownouts around Denver. I had problems with my P.C. It(like many computers just does not work well when the voltage is less than great. Could this be the "real Y2K" danger, that low voltage will let all the security systems, lights, most of the motors work, but most of the computers will function poorly mine does not read the keyboard, mouse, or keyboard types "wrong"; an "a" may be right, while a "b" might be a "Z" or some non-english symbol, and nothing is read correctly by the computer.
Our bank can take Deposits, but can not release any "cash" if they can not assure their records show a balance on hand.
