I have a question I haven't seen addressed. I am thinking about making the transition to full time day trading and I have a concern.

Assuming I could make the transition, and could obtain adequate success, is this a worthwhile vocation? I write software as a consultant and in the past have bypassed jobs which I questioned the value to society. For example, I had an opportunity to work on video gambling machines which as a challenge, would have been neat, but I didn't like the idea of being party to people messing up their lives.

I understand that day trading isn't the same thing but still, I wonder if looking back at a career in this field will seem like a waste, regardless of any financial success. Any opinions?
