Gee, I thought a chat room is where I find my children! WHat I find silly about the authors of the US News articles is that they clearly have never read many of the posts on this thread. I find many-- not all, but many -- of the arguments on this thread and others (Stock Attack, Kahuna, MDA) to be quite good. What I told Vogelstein, the guy I spoke with, is that while there are some foolish people on these threads, many people (e.g., Glenn and Mark on this thread) are smart people who make excellent arguments. Look at the recent discussion I had with a few people about Moving Averages and the like. Janet Malcolm was right: journalists are murderers.
