Yousef, Do you just "randomly scatter" spare gates across the chip ?? The process of placing spare gates in a design is more sophisticated than random, but it is important that they are locally available to all units. Fixing speedpaths with spare gates is standard practice for microprocessor designs. (I might have said that before.) Scumbria
