Weby--Thanks for your post, and am delighted to see you here. Comments from you were among the few I would seek out on Raging Bull.
I was unhappy to see that I'd paid more than everyone else for my lifetime membership here, especially after losing a similar amount on the Vikes and the Jets ("somewhere there's a place for us, a time and place for us"--it just ain't gonna be the Super Bowl...)
I would admit to several times being close to persuaded to sell my shares of WAVX, figuring that I could always monitor the stock and once an agreement with a major OEM was announced, I could always get back in--not for $4, obviously, but maybe for $10 or $15 or even $20. While that would be a significant difference from $4, I also figured that if this one hits (and a major OEM agreement would likely ensure it, I think), the sky is almost the limit--would it really matter that much in the end if I got in at $4 or in at $15 or $20 if it went to triple digits? That still is not an entirely unpersuasive argument to me, but I'm somewhat soothed by the involvements that the company has made in the past several months, as well as a couple of the awards it has received for innovation (as you may remember, I posted a note on RB asking if someone had actually ever seen the Wavemeter work --skeptic that I am...).
Anyway, I'm still long WAVX, waiting for Big Blue or someone or something (Embassy?) to come through.
Liked your reference to charity, also. If this develops the way we hope, all of us will have the ability to become philanthropists of one sort or another--what a nice thought!
