"Only valid if you are not starving."

Most people are not starving & a country can't be built strong around the poor .. the more people spend in this country the better. As long as people shop in all those border towns (price matters & they will), the home town misses out on taxes, the town has to be supported with extra gov't dollars .. we pay again. I want to support my country sure but not so we can grow exports & tax them for gov't & then expect the gov't to properly shell out those taxes collected from exports. Less gov't the better.

I do believe we are on the same side & want Canada and Canadians to do well .. exports (& the job's it creates) is one way just not the only focus IMO. Too much focus on exports means we are stuck with a cheap dollar forever, why not make cheaper exports part of the plan.
