Of course you are confused again. Each male carries billions of sperm and each woman myriad ova at birth. Each cell has a subjective (owner) probability of becoming part of a human being. Its "objective probability" (I know not what that is) is not defined. The probability depends on choices made by the "owner" (if you don't believe this property right under natural law I think you should). If the woman never engages in unprotected sex she condemns all of her ova to death. They will either be voided in menstruation or rot within her ovaries in her tomb. If she stays a virgin, becomes a chaste nun, or contracepts, she conspires with her religious teacher to murder all those possible lives by your feeble and perverted logic of life. All women murder most of their potential children, by your ideas, and I deny that absolutely.
And men, they're all far worse. They fling and squirt their sperm in every direction, doomed to die, drying in bedsheets, handkerchiefs, and even dirty socks, swallowed, spit out, vomited, trapped in used condoms thrown in parking lots, wiped off on corduroys, trickling down legs, licked up by hungry dogs, only a tiny fraction only one in fact reaches and penetrates an ovum, and most of the fertilized eggs will not implant but die on tampons or sanitary pad, or be washed out. Of those that implant, less than half will survive to 26 weeks because of spontaneous or induced abortion. Few will grow old enough to vote right wingers into power. Nature is profligate and immoral. It doesn't give a tuppeny damn about the individual. It bets the odds. The man who only masturbates or (ahem, has no release but nocturnal emissions), will leave no genes in the future stock. Fortunately or not, we're freeing our stock of celibates and self-lovers. The man who scatters his seed over and in a smiling sea of nubile girls, may leave a hundred or more offspring to outbreed the popes and monks and pious, self-hating, priggish self-righteous teen-age slugs who wouldn't touch a girl for love or money. Armies of rapists conquering the weak and passive, will impregnate their victims and rear a crop of bitter, brave and powerful youths who will strike back against their fathers. Is it moral to forgive your oppressor? Or should you strike him dead.
It is our job in life to populate the earth and stars. Billions will die and suffer in this march. Quadrillion sperm and ova will be voided into "empty" space between the stars ere we are done. Nearly all will die. It matters not if some young girl empties herself of an unwanted life here or there. What's important is that she join the march of life that pushes us bravely into time. She has many more potential lives in her. No need she go to jail or be tied down by an inconvenient, unwanted, or even hated life. Enough that she live, perhaps to meet a partner whom she can love and who with her can raise beloved children of their own to carry on the fight. |
