Marty, Thanks for your very generous responses to my post. I already feel at home here. No, I don't feel that it is anywhere close to inevitable that Wave will succeed, nor does it appear that "The Street" does, either, judging from it's extremely steady stock price. My investment in WAVX isn't due to my belief in it's "inevitability" (if that were the case, I would have a lot more than 2,000 shares...), but rather that it seems to me that the risk/reward ratio is significant enough to take a flyer on it. I haven't looked for a while, but this company burns through a pretty significant stash of cash on a monthly basis--which isn't necessarily bad (because of what the cash buys you), but does increase it's vulnerability if it doesn't continue to convince investors/institutions of the merit of its business plan. Still, the involvements that it has announced in the past few months has soothed my concern about going to zero, although I still believe it's a possibility if investors don't remain patient. I can tell you that my investments in E*Trade and Music Boulevard have returned a hell of a lot more than my investment in WAVX (my basis is a little less than $4), and there is obviously an opportunity cost in holding a stock that is basically flat. On the other hand, if WAVX hits, it's going to look like a skyrocket piercing the blue sky... But it ain't a sure thing, not yet anyway...
