nCipher was founded in 1996 by Alex van Someren and Dr Nicko van Someren and
began shipping its first range of products, the nFast cryptographic accelerators, during
1997. It currently has a staff of about 35 with the majority based in Cambridge, UK
and the remainder at nCipher Inc in the USA.
nCipher's headquarters are in Cambridge, England, where it is able to take advantage
of close links with research at Cambridge University, the local high-tech community,
and also its proximity to the financial markets of the City of London.
