OFF-TOPIC! Hot stuff! Of course "conscience" has often been a cop-out, and justification for ridiculous and stupid decisions. However, that is perhaps the ONLY quality that distinguishes humans from all other animals. It is that quality that have us "do the right thing" even when it is patently bad for us and our families. Conscience = principle. To be conscience-less is to be lost in life and purpose, and prone to be substituted or seduced by blind fanaticism and obedience in religion. I would much rather deal with a person whose conscience I don't agree with, than someone without any principles, or a religious nut. Having said all the above, the impeachment proceedings are a mockery because: 1. the accusers are patently hypocritical. How pure are they? Let the sinless cast the first stone, not wife-dumping, alimony-avoiding hypocritical scum like Barr. To be hypocritical is effectively to be without principle! 2. Who annointed them our Moral Guardians??? 3. There are much more pressing issues to be dealt with then this very trivial distracting issue of a man cheating on his wife. Man, it is none of our business and we didn't elect Slick because he is a saint! Gary
