g200s and Netbuei

<grin> I actually meant that (1) the SGRAM OEM was indentical to the retail and (2) even different versions didn't differ in functinoally important ways for most purposes.

(IMHO, People tend to make too much of things like 230 vs. 250 RAMDAC and SGRAM vs. SDRAM. Granted, in some rare cases it makes a difference, bust most often it's about marketing more than anything else.)

Per your and Sean's suggestion, I did put on Netbuei (and only that, per Sean's well taken security warning), and so far so good! 1 sees 3 now with no problems, and both still see the internet OK too.

I didn't realize this should be faster. An added benefit: I now don't have to have the DSL modem running for the LAN to be working great, since the LAN isn't dependent on USW'd DCHP any more.

Because I'd heard Netbeui maligned enough (can't even recall exactly why) and I couldn't use it with Laplink (per your helpful suggestions last summer on this thread) that I had decided to just leave it all TCP/IP when (until recently) all worked great that way.

Now if I can only figure out what's trashing our floppy drives, her machine will be all set, and I can (god forbid) get some work done!

Muchos Gracias to you and Sean, once again.
