DoubleD,

It had been suggested in one or more (?) previous posts, that it would be of strong benefit to Barrick to incorporate Valadero in their mining plan, and also suggested that failure to do could impair Pascua's economics. The fact that Barrick stressed the stand alone nature of Pascua and given their holiday season approach to taking out ARP, lead me to hold the opinion that they (Barrick) are perhaps not too forthcoming (as can be expected when trying to buy another company). I think their choice of words in the press release should be given a close reading. I still can't figure why they simply did not make the $5.50 offer right away and in so doing would perhaps have provided them with immediate success. Nickel and diming it may wind up costing them a quarter more!
