If you do go to FNTN, if it's not too much bother, can you ask to see the audited 1997 and latest 1998 financials, at least to prove that they exist? Also, if it won't hurt your relationship, ask why they aren't willing to release at least the 1997 figures, and maybe even if they're being generous, 6 or 9 month 1998 numbers? (Most outfits are releasing preliminary 1998 about now, but they may not have the accounting staff or computer power to do so.)
They can hardly think that their absolute silence about basic financial data is helpful to their cause, unless the number are so bad that the price would drop significantly further than it already has. In which case, why are we all still here and why are many of us saying good things about the stock? If the 1997 are bad but the 1998 improving, surely they can trust us to notice that. If the 1997 are bad and the 1998 worse, well, is it really responsible of them to hide that information from the company's owners? If they really don't know what their numbers are, that's pretty scary.
All in all, I am having trouble thinking of a good reason why these numbers continue to be hidden from the company owners. |
