Jules, FWIW, I also believe Mark's comments on SAP are right on
target. SAP is very hard to install and if a company is not already
in the middle of implementation they will not start now in 1999 due
to the requirement virtually all major companies have to freeze their
data centers in the fourth quarter of this year prior to Y2K so that
they can stabilize mission critical applications on Y2K ready
hardware and software at the latest EC (microcode) and version/release
levels available. This means there is a real potential for a major
shortfall in revenue/profit for the fourth quarter. I don't believe
there is any way at all for most tech companies to exceed their 4Q
1998 performance in 4Q 99. That said, the ERP software companies get
hit the hardest with a down trend starting late Spring with the
final capitulation during August. For your picks, I too believe
RMDY is a double this year in particular off my average cost of 11 and
change but if it happens it will be before August and when it does I
am out or out anyway in August. Not much of what I buy meets
Mark's parameters so I won't have the opportunity to enter some ideas.
