Syncrude It may (cost Barrick more) , but remember Lundins rejected $5.50 - so it would have been a hostile bid too. As regards Pascua IMHO it is a stand alone project - they would not have committed hundreds of millions of dollars on the off chance that they would also acquire ARP - bearing in mind that the $s were committted to some time back. This is all somewhat academic because ABX obviously wants to control the area betwen them and ARP and have the mine too. If you pay $5.10 do you get 10% on your money or more? Or, do you only get $5.00? Still not a bad bet? dd
