If Microsoft reports higher than expected earnings due to unexpectedly high sales of Office then it means that companies have given up on Office 2000.

Even worse, if Microsoft reports higher than expected sales of Windows NT 4, then it means that companies are giving up on Windows 2000.

Doesn't it mean that companies are adopting/converting to these programs faster than expected? (And this is good). I don't see what it has to do with future sales of the 2K products.
