Slightly OT, but...
I was watching CNBC a few weeks ago with the sound off, and on the screen they were interviewing a guy who they described as a "market astrologer." Then, last week, they had a guy on explaining that how the S&P performed in January was a very strong indicator of how it will do for the whole year (sort of like the Superbowl). The host said, "but wasn't it wrong last year?" And the guest answered, "I don't know, i don't remember." He then added that his indicator was always right in odd numbered years, and that 1999 was indeed an odd number.
Does CNBC have any integrity, any desire to be taken seriously? Do their guests pay to be on? I don't get. But if their goal is to entertain me, they're doing a swell job...
