I agree mostly with what you said, however Corporate buying
decisions for their internal applications and intranet are
very different from Consumer buying decisions. Corporations
*do* care how something works, not just what it does. Thus,
the interest in IIOP over DCOM is real. However, as you say,
MSFT has major advantages in being there first and being able
to define their own "standards" without having to go to any
committee to decide.
